Digitization at the point of sale, improving the shopping experience and increasing customer service have long been discussed in retail. This is now possible with the mobile checkout. We explain the advantages of mobile checkout using a fictional customer story.

Maike likes to go shopping. She also likes to browse and order online in her favorite shops. But today she wants to go to town. The weather is nice and invites one to pass the time. After Maike has met a friend for lunch, the two of them go for a walk on the shopping street. They're are not looking for anything special, but they do like to be inspired.

In one of her favorite shops, Maike sees a pair of pants in the window that she likes.

Of course Julia knows exactly which pants she means and shows them to her. There is also a matching shirt. Maike would like to try both on.

Unfortunately the shirt is no longer available in her size.

Julia scans the item with the InStore Assistant on her mobile phone and sees that the shirt is still available in the right size in the online shop.

She gives Maike a different color of the shirt to test the size. Maike and her friend are shown to the changing room.

The pants fit perfectly, as does the shirt, but Maike prefers the right color.

Julia offers to order the shirt for Maike in the right color and size online and to send it to her home free of charge. Today there is also a discount on the set consisting of pants and shirt. Maike agrees.

Julia scans both items and Maike's customer card on the InStore Assistant. The item discount is automatically recognized and deducted when the set is scanned.

For home delivery, Julia and Maike check the address again.

The purchase is transferred to the mobile payment terminal that Julia carries with her. Maike pays directly on with Julia with a debit card.

Meanwhile, Julia unlocks the trousers and puts them in a carrier bag. Julia accompanies Maike and her friend to the door and says goodbye. Maike is happy about the new pants and the shirt that she will receive in the next few days. She had an amazing buying experience that makes her lovely day even better.
